Trey Songz – ‘Simply Amazing’

 

Trey Songz is the most consistent inconsistent R&B singer of recent times. Just when I reprimand him for refusing to push musical boundaries and attempt to grow artistically, he releases “Simply Amazing,” a fitting title for the genre-bending record.

The song boasts elements of pop and rock, particularly the arrangement and production, yet Trey maintains his authenticity. Oh, the lyrics aren’t overtly vulgar like a previous single from Chapter V.

She ain’t perfect, but she’s worth it
Every breath I breathe for the life of me
And I know I might not deserve it
But if she loves me… and it’s simply amazing”
