Rick Ross “Diced Pineapples” Featuring Drake and Wale
It’s been an unusually quiet week for Rick Ross. Outside of being
targeted by the Freeway Rick Ross, or having his video “Hold Me Back”
banned by BET even before it aired – no records have premiered, and
we’ve just had to live with the bombardment of tweets from Rick Ross,
DJ Khaled, and the rest of MMG – until now. While the record will
inevitably leak to the public, one of the most anticipated cuts off his
highly anticipated fifth studio album has premiered in the form of
“Diced Pineapples” featuring the MMGenius Wale, and OVO’s own Drake.
‘Diced Pineapples’ is definitely the much slower and paced cut we’ve
heard from God Forgives, I Don’t. Unfortunately, for those anticipating
one of Drake’s money making, show stealing 16s – you’ll definitely be
disappointed as he has been delegated to hook duty. Wale opens up and
closes the song, and Ross fills in the gap between. Personally, it’s an
alright track – I’m a fan of Ross’ much more smoother catalog. However, I
do think it might’ve gotten a better response for me as a Wale track,
just because it seems more catered to him, and he has arguably the more
impressive showing. Hopefully it will make more sense within the context
of God Forgives, I Don’t.
