Ne-Yo Talks Rejecting MLK Role [Video]
Tuesday, Ne-Yo stopped by Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club”
and deeply discussed an array of topics. He spoke on allowing people
(like Beyoncé) to have writing credits based on technicalities.
He also said that his album, R.E.D., has been pushed back
from its September release date and he’s not inspired by R&B because
there is an emotional disconnect. Trey Songz was used as an example of
someone who makes music with no emotional connection.
Ne-Yo commented on Frank Ocean, yet again. He says he likes his
songs, although they can be too complicated for the average listener.
Weeks ago, a British newspaper reported that Ne-Yo refused to gain 30 pounds for a Martin Luther King, Jr. movie role. In the interview, he explained his decision had nothing to do with weight. He would rather an “actor actor” taking that role.
