Nicki Minaj Joins ‘American Idol’ As New Judge
After various reports, Ryan Seacrest has confirmed that prolific lyricist and global trendsetter, Nicki Minaj, has joined the American Idol judging panel. Mariah Carey,
Randy Jackson and Keith Urban will sit alongside the rapstress that has
brought you philosophical lyrics such as: “you a stupid hoe, you-a,
you-a, stupid hoe.”
Earlier this year, Minaj performed Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’s most profound song, “Starships,” on the ‘Idol’ stage. The awe-inspiring rendition was so powerful, the producers had to hire her permanently.
Over the years, viewership has withered on the once-Pop culture
spectacle. Last year’s Season 11 finale was the least-watched finale in
the show’s history (although it boasted some its most talented singers
ever).
Auditions began today at New York’s Lincoln Center, and surely, Minaj’s sane fans will welcome their leader tactfully and appropriately.
